Amazing Lesson

As you may or may not know I am a teaching professional. I fell in love with tennis 28 years ago. Today I'm happy to say I'm still in love with the game game and the opportunity to help others unlock the tennis player inside.

Yesterday I was fortunate to be a part of the most amazing lesson. The student was returning to the court for only the sixth time after a forced break due to a back injury. Not aware of my rekindled love for Body Alignment, the student began to display all of the qualities I have talked about of late.
We talked about chipping away the rust and looking underneath to see what was left. To my amazement and hers we uncovered something new.

Due to her back injury the student was super aware of the ready position and beginning each attempt from it. We made her aware of the space needed to perform perfect technique. After several successful attempts at the slower speeds she instantly began increasing speed, maintaining form and smiling from ear to ear. This same pattern continued from. Stroke to stroke as we worked through the hour.

As the lesson concluded we talked briefly talk about this blog and how she had found her Body Alignment. We both agreed the back injury combined with her years of working on perfect form have resulted in her uncovering something wonderful after chipping away the rust. Just goes to show what amazing things can happen when you are aligned.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone. Hope the Easter Bunny fills your hearts and baskets with love and goodies.
